Forum: "Weaving as Peru's Ancestral Legacy: Identity, Sustainability, and Future"

On August 22, the International Alpaca Association (IAA), in collaboration with the Culture Association for Sustainable Advancement (CAVS), IT PROJECT, and ASCALPE, held the Forum "Weaving as Peru's Ancestral Legacy: Identity, Sustainability, and Future" at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Arequipa.

The objective of the forum was to generate a space for reflection and dialogue to recognize Peruvian weaving as a living cultural heritage; to understand its evolution, its current impact, and the challenges it faces to ensure its projection toward future generations.

In this regard, panel discussions were held during the event addressing topics linked to the alpaca sector across two blocks entitled "Weaving as Living Memory" and "From Heritage to Innovation." The event featured James Posso (Regional Councilor of Arequipa) and alpaca sector representatives such as Jessica Rodríguez (Art Atlas), Diego Saca (Incalpaca TPX), José Carlos Hernani (Michell), Mateo Macedo (Clamasa), and Inés Flores (Master Artisan) as panelists.
